The straightforward version
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
NavNet is a one-person home-tech service. This page explains what the site uses to answer questions, arrange visits, and keep discounts fair. Questions or privacy requests? Email [email protected].
Information you choose to share
If you request a visit or contact me, I receive the details you provide, such as your name, email, phone number, service address, preferred appointment time, and description of the issue. Contact and change/cancel request forms send these details securely to the site, which uses Resend to deliver the relevant messages. The address lookup and travel-price checker use an address you enter to estimate distance and fees.
Appointment requests must be submitted by an adult or by a parent or guardian on a minor’s behalf. Please provide the adult’s contact details and avoid entering a child’s sensitive information. The form records only that the adult/guardian confirmation was checked; it does not ask for a birth date.
Payments and discount checks
When requesting an appointment or making payment, you must agree to the Terms of Service. The Privacy Policy remains available from the site's legal links. NavNet stores your name and email, the server-recorded acceptance time, terms revision, acknowledgement text, and a copy and integrity hash of the terms, linked to the request or payment order. Requests are unpaid; payment is offered only after both parties accept the appointment and Calendar confirmation is secured. These records document the agreement and help handle legitimate payment disputes or lawful recovery of valid unpaid balances. A terms checkbox does not opt you into marketing or waive your legal rights.
Checkout uses Square. The site sends your checkout email and order details to Square to open its payment page; Square handles payment information under its own privacy terms. NavNet does not collect payment-card numbers on this site. To prevent repeat coupon use, the checkout system keeps keyed hashes of the email address and phone number entered at checkout, together with order references and coupon redemption dates. These records do not store your raw email or phone number, but are still used to recognize repeat use of an offer. The site does not use IP addresses, MAC addresses, or device fingerprints to decide coupon eligibility. Shared or changed contact information may affect whether an offer is available; contact me if you believe the result is wrong.
Cookie Policy and browser storage
After you submit an unpaid appointment request, I may email a receipt, a proposed time, and later appointment updates such as a confirmation, reminder, change or cancellation notice, and one service follow-up. If you explicitly check the optional marketing box at booking, I may send an occasional check-in and no more than one coupon message each month to existing customers. Each marketing email has an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing does not stop essential appointment emails. Booking email and consent records are stored in Cloudflare D1 and outbound delivery is processed by Resend.
A first-party navnet_privacy cookie remembers whether you chose “Essential only” or “Allow offer reminders” for up to 180 days. Essential browser storage keeps your selected service list and locally limits repeated form submissions and non-first-order coupon attempts. If you allow offer reminders, local storage also remembers that you saw the welcome offer or rare surprise, so those messages do not keep reappearing. Optional offer reminders do not run before you opt in. The cookie does not contain a customer ID, and browser data is not proof that you are a first-time buyer.
You can revisit at any time. Browser settings let you clear cookies and site data. Clearing the preference cookie asks you again; the site does not secretly restore your choice from another storage location. No service worker stores an identifier to bring back deleted tracking data. Removing browser data does not erase orders already recorded for payment or coupon fairness; contact me about those records.
Other services involved
The site is hosted through Cloudflare, which may process connection and security data such as your IP address to serve and protect the site. Address suggestions use OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service, which receives address searches you submit. Google Fonts may receive standard browser requests when fonts load. Those providers have their own policies. I do not sell customer information or use it for third-party advertising on this site.
Google Calendar scheduling
NavNet uses Google Calendar only for the business owner's appointment scheduling. A private, self-hosted n8n workflow connects to the owner's primary calendar; customers do not connect their own Google accounts. The Google consent screen requests permission to view calendar availability and to create or edit events. For routine availability checks, the workflow calls Google's FreeBusy API and reads busy start and end timestamps. Before confirming a booking, the private automation also reads business-calendar events in the proposed time window and verifies the saved NavNet event to prevent conflicts and duplicate bookings. Event details returned by Google are handled only by NavNet's private automation for these scheduling checks. The workflow stores a calendar identifier, generated interval identifiers, start/end timestamps, and sync-window timestamps in Cloudflare D1 to detect scheduling conflicts. This snapshot covers a rolling 90-day window and is refreshed every 10 minutes. After the owner approves a time and the customer accepts it, n8n creates one event on the business calendar with the accepted start/end, a private NavNet offer reference, and customer-provided appointment notes; no appointment event is created before acceptance. Owner-provided notes may also be included in NavNet availability blocks, which are created or removed only after owner confirmation. The workflow does not share calendars or modify unrelated events. Customer booking and offer records remain in NavNet's appointment database; response tokens are stored only as SHA-256 hashes and expire after 48 hours. Google OAuth credentials are stored in n8n's encrypted credential store. Calendar data is used only to manage NavNet appointments, not for advertising, and is not sold. It is processed by Google, Cloudflare, and NavNet's self-hosted n8n service only as needed to provide scheduling. The calendar owner can revoke access through Google Account settings. Google handles account and Calendar data under Google's own privacy terms.
Retention and your choices
I keep information needed to handle inquiries, visits, payment records, accounting, and coupon-abuse prevention for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes or required by law. To ask what I have, correct an appointment detail, or request deletion where possible, email [email protected] with “Privacy and data deletion request” as the subject. I may need to verify your identity and retain records required for accounting, payment disputes, or fraud prevention. Changes to this policy will appear here with a new update date.
